UAK Awards and Prizes
This Oration is dedicated to the memory of the late Prof. Roy Chally, a distinguished teacher of Urology and a founding member of the Urological Association of Kerala. Prof. Chally made significant contributions to the field, having served as President of UAK, Secretary of the Urological Society of India (USI), and later as USI President.
Orators are selected by the Executive Committee based on criteria approved by the General Body. The Orator is invited to suggest a topic for the oration, reflecting their experience and expertise. Complimentary registration and hospitality will be provided by the Organizing Committee. Additionally, UAK will cover the cost of round-trip economy airfare via the shortest route for the Orator to attend the conference and deliver the oration. The Association honors the Orator with a memento and a certificate in recognition of their contribution.

This award is instituted in the name of Late. Prof. PA Abraham. He was a pioneering figure in the establishment of Urology in Kerala and served as the founding President of the Urological Association of Kerala (UAK).

This fellowship is instituted in the name of Late. Prof. P Subramoniam. He was an esteemed academician, and a dynamic leader. He was the Head of the Urology Department in Thiruvananthapuram and served the Urological Association of Kerala (UAK) in various capacities as an office bearer.
This fellowship is open to postgraduate Urology students who are Associate Members of the Urological Association of Kerala (UAK).

This prize, named in honour of the late Dr. Augustine Komaranchath, recognizes his legacy as an eminent urologist and a founding member of the Urological Association of Kerala. Dr. Komaranchath made history in April 1986 by performing the first kidney transplant in Kerala’s private sector.
All UAK members are eligible to apply for this award, which is presented for the best published paper during the period from August 1 of the preceding year to July 31 of the current year, ahead of each Annual Conference of UAK.

The UAK Review Paper Award is presented to the author of the best narrative review on a designated urology topic, as determined by the General Body of the Urological Association of Kerala. This award recognizes outstanding scholarly contributions and in-depth exploration of urological subjects. The review must be authored by a single individual, showcasing their expertise and insights into the chosen topic. This prestigious award is open to all members of UAK, encouraging a high standard of academic excellence and knowledge sharing within the association. The recipient of the award is given the distinguished opportunity to present their review paper during the plenary session at the Urological Association of Kerala’s annual conference.
